The Health Card Officer is responsible for processing health card applications, verifying eligibility, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth registration and renewal of health cards for patients or beneficiaries. This role requires strong administrative, communication, and customer service skills to assist clients and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients in completing health card applications and explain eligibility criteria.
Verify documentation for health card issuance and renewals.
Input and maintain accurate client information in health card databases.
Issue new health cards and facilitate replacements for lost/damaged cards.
Collaborate with hospitals, clinics, or insurance providers to verify patient eligibility.
Respond to queries from beneficiaries regarding their health card status.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all health records.
Generate reports related to health card registration and usage.
Monitor expiration dates and notify clients of renewal deadlines.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
Escalate unresolved or complex cases to supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in administration, healthcare, or a related field is a plus.
Prior experience in healthcare administration, insurance, or customer service preferred.
Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, and office software (e.g., MS Office).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality.
Detail-oriented with good organizational and problem-solving skills.
