Job Description

Developing and Implementing Safety Programs:

Creating and maintaining workplace safety plans, policies, and procedures aligned with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

Risk Assessment and Management:

Identifying potential hazards, assessing risks associated with workplace activities, and recommending appropriate control measures to mitigate those risks.

Incident Investigation and Reporting:

Investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Training and Education:

Conducting safety training programs for employees on various health and safety topics, including accident prevention, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.

Compliance Monitoring and Auditing:

Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, laws, and hospital policies through regular inspections, audits, and monitoring of workplace activities.

Emergency Preparedness:

Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and other emergency protocols.

Promoting a Safety Culture:

Fostering a positive safety culture through communication, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.

Maintaining Records and Documentation:

Keeping accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident investigations, and other relevant safety information.

Patient Safety:

A crucial aspect of the role is ensuring patient safety by identifying and mitigating risks related to medical equipment, patient handling, infection control, and other potential hazards.

Infection Control:

Working with infection control teams to implement and maintain infection control protocols and procedures.

Emergency Response:

Coordinating with emergency services and hospital staff to ensure a safe and effective response to medical emergencies.
