Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced

Safety Officer

to oversee workplace safety, health, and environmental compliance in our seafood processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed in line with statutory regulations, food industry standards, and customer audits. The candidate must possess relevant safety certifications, audit knowledge, and practical experience in industrial safety practices.Develop, implement, and monitor

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

policies and procedures within the seafood plant.Ensure compliance with

Factories Act, EHS regulations, ISO, BRC, HACCP, and customer audit requirements

.Conduct

risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis

across all departments.

safety training programs

and awareness sessions for employees and contract workers. Maintain safety records, incident reports, accident investigations, and implement corrective actions. Inspect and monitor

machinery, cold storage areas, chemical handling, PPE usage, fire safety equipment, and emergency exits

regularly. Support

internal and external audits

by preparing documentation, ensuring compliance, and closing non-conformities. Lead emergency preparedness initiatives, including

fire drills, evacuation drills, and first aid training

. Coordinate with the

Quality Control, Production, and HR departments

to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with

waste management, hygiene, and environmental safety

in line with seafood industry standards. Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in

Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety / Occupational Health & Safety

or equivalent. Must have completed

Government-approved Safety Certification Course

(NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent preferred). Knowledge of

audit processes

(internal, customer, and third-party audits) in food industry setups. 2-5 years of relevant work experience in

seafood / food processing / manufacturing industries

. Strong knowledge of

OSHA, ISO 45001, HACCP, and BRC guidelines

. Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills. Ability to work under pressure, handle incidents, and ensure compliance.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,809.11 - ₹41,975.34 per month
