Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Production - Accessories will lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across all

accessories categories (bags, belts, scarves, leather goods, etc.), ensuring on-time delivery, superior

quality, cost efficiency, and scalable production systems. The role will drive operational excellence

across internal units and external vendors while maintaining brand standards and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

? Own end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and execution across accessories

categories.

? Translate design and merchandising requirements into executable production plans.

? Ensure adherence to delivery timelines, production efficiency, and capacity utilisation.

2. Factory & Vendor Operations

? Manage internal production units and outsourced vendors.

? Drive vendor capability building, capacity planning, and performance improvement.

? Ensure alignment to brand quality, delivery, and compliance standards.

3. Quality Management

? Oversee quality standards across raw materials, in-process checks, and finished goods.

? Drive rejection reduction, defect prevention, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

? Ensure compliance with product safety, material, and testing standards.

4. Cost Control & Efficiency

? Own production costing, margin protection, and wastage control.

? Drive productivity improvements through process optimisation and technology adoption.

? Implement best practices to reduce rework, scrap, and inefficiencies.

5. Sourcing & Material Coordination


? Work closely with sourcing teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and

components.

? Review BOMs, material specifications, and consumption norms.

? Mitigate supply risks through alternate sourcing and inventory planning.

6. New Product Development (NPD) Support

? Partner with Design and Merchandising teams during sampling and NPD stages.

? Ensure manufacturability, cost feasibility, and scalability of new designs.

? Drive smooth transition from sampling to bulk production.

7. Team Leadership & Capability Building

? Lead and develop production managers, supervisors, and technical teams.

? Build strong succession pipelines and foster a performance-driven culture.

? Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety, and compliance norms.

8. MIS, Reporting & Governance

? Track and review KPIs including delivery adherence, efficiency, quality, and costs.

? Prepare operational MIS and performance dashboards for leadership reviews.

? Ensure strong governance, documentation, and audit readiness.
