Ellysium Academy Private Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead growth initiatives in the academic sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the education industry, and a proven track record in developing strategic partnerships and managing sales teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the academic sector in Madurai and surrounding regions.
Develop and nurture strong, strategic relationships with key decision-makers in universities, colleges, schools, and research organizations.
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
Set sales goals, monitor team performance, provide coaching, and foster a high-performance sales culture.
Craft customized proposals and solutions that address the unique needs of academic clients.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (product development, marketing, operations) to ensure successful service delivery.
Stay informed about education sector trends, policy changes, and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
Manage and grow the sales pipeline, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Represent Ellysium Academy at academic conferences, networking events, and trade shows to promote brand visibility and generate leads.
Provide market and client feedback to drive continuous improvement of products and services.
Prepare detailed sales and market reports for senior management review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related discipline; MBA or relevant advanced qualification preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in business development or sales within the academic or education sector.
Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and motivate a sales team.
Deep understanding of the academic environment, including procurement and decision-making processes in educational institutions.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.
Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with EdTech products or educational services.
Understanding of government education policies and funding mechanisms.
Analytical mindset with the ability to develop targeted strategies based on market insights.
