The Head of Sales - Apparels will lead the complete sales function for the apparel division. The role includes building sales strategy, expanding distribution, managing teams, and achieving revenue and growth targets across markets.
Key Responsibilities1. Sales Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement the sales strategy for the apparel category.
Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Identify new markets, channels, and distribution opportunities.
2. Channel Development
Build and grow GT (General Trade), MT (Modern Trade), and distributor networks.
Manage retailer onboarding, sales schemes, and partner relationships.
Develop strategies for institutional, bulk, and online sales (if applicable).
3. Team Management
Recruit, train, and manage the sales team (ASMs, TSMs, field executives).
Set KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure on-ground execution.
Motivate the team and build a strong performance-driven culture.
4. Market Execution
Ensure proper placement, visibility, and availability of apparel products.
Oversee launch plans for new designs/collections.
Drive secondary and primary sales through structured planning.
5. Market Research & Competitor Analysis
Track market trends, pricing, and competitor activity.
Share insights with product and management teams to improve offerings.
6. Reporting & Budgeting
Prepare sales forecasts and sales reports for management review.
Manage budgets for sales promotions, schemes, and marketing activities.
Ensure timely collection of payments and credit discipline.
Requirements
6-10 years of experience in apparel/FMCG/lifestyle sales with strong channel exposure.
Experience in building and managing distribution networks.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage large sales teams across multiple territories.
Results-driven mindset with strong analytical abilities.
