As we build the foundation of our business, we are looking for a Head of Operations to lead and scale our operational backbone. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of student travel from the ground up.
Role Overview:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing all operational aspects of our travel programs -- from partner logistics and itinerary management to customer service and safety protocols. You'll be the architect of reliability and excellence, ensuring every trip runs smoothly and delivers exceptional value and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
:
Design and implement end-to-end operations workflows covering pre-departure planning, on-trip execution, and post-trip feedback.Establish scalable operational processes for program planning, staffing, logistics, vendor coordination, and emergency response. Build and manage SOPs across regions, seasons, and program types.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and lead a cross-functional operations team (incl. trip coordinators, travel managers, and support staff). Establish a performance-driven culture with clear metrics, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Partner & Vendor Management:
Source, onboard, and manage local partners and travel vendors across destinations (transport, accommodation, activities, etc.). Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Customer Experience & Safety:
Define and implement customer service processes including pre-trip communication, on-ground support, and incident management. Champion traveler safety by developing robust risk management protocols and ensuring local partner compliance with safety norms.
Maintain 24/7 support readiness during travel seasons.
Systems & Tools:
Select and implement technology tools for itinerary planning, CRM, logistics, and customer communication.Leverage data to track operational KPIs and optimize performance (e.g., trip NPS, cost per traveler, on-time readiness).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing to ensure operational feasibility of new programs and destinations. Contribute to program innovation by offering operational insights on traveler trends, feedback, and logistical possibilities.
What We're Looking For:
Experience & Skills
7+ years of operations or logistics leadership experience, ideally in travel, education, or youth-focused programs. Proven track record in managing complex, multi-country operations. Deep understanding of international travel logistics, visa and compliance requirements, and vendor management.
