Role Overview: The Strategic Leader & Scaling Architect

The Head of Operations & Growth is a leadership position responsible for

defining the strategy and governing the execution

of all operational and digital growth functions. This role holds full ownership of the e-commerce P&L efficiency, setting the vision for scalable supply chain practices, and leading a small, dedicated team (3-4 specialists across merchandising, social media, and campaign execution).

This role requires a leader with proven experience transforming strategic vision into repeatable, profitable processes, with a keen focus on team enablement and financial performance (Gross Margin, LTV, and ROI).

Key ResponsibilitiesI. Strategic E-commerce Growth & P&L Oversight

Growth Strategy & Budgeting:

Define the overarching strategy for D2C and Marketplace revenue expansion. Own the overall growth budget, ensuring optimal allocation across paid media, CRM, and merchandising efforts to meet ambitious ROI and LTV targets.

Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) Governance:

Direct the strategy for customer retention across Email (Klaviyo) and Messaging. The focus is on segmentation models, defining communication cadence, and ensuring the team executes campaigns that maximize LTV and minimize churn.

Marketplace & D2C Performance:

Govern the optimization standards for all product listings and content across the website and major marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy). Ensure the merchandising team adheres to best practices for conversion rate (CR) and search ranking.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

Own the unified dashboard for all business performance. Deliver high-level, data-driven insights and financial forecasts (AOV, LTV, CPA) directly to the Founder to inform future funding rounds and product development.
II. Supply Chain, Fulfillment, and Operational Governance

Inventory Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement high-level, data-driven demand forecasting strategy, balancing the long lead times of handcrafted goods with capital efficiency. Govern the Inventory Management System (IMS) implementation and compliance.

Logistics & 3PL Management:

Strategic oversight of the entire logistics network. Drive continuous negotiation and performance reviews with all 3PL partners and couriers to optimize cost-per-shipment, transit times, and compliance standards.

Artisan & Vendor Strategy:

Serve as the strategic liaison with artisan groups and suppliers. Establish the governance framework for ethical sourcing and rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Quality Control (QC) that the team must execute.

Process Innovation & Compliance:

Champion continuous operational improvement (Kaizen) across all departments. Ensure all operational SOPs (warehousing, packing, dispatch) are documented, adhered to, and comply with all local and international e-commerce regulations.
III. Team Leadership & People Management

Hiring & Development:

Lead the hiring, training, and professional development of a small, high-performing team (e.g., E-commerce Executive, Merchandiser, Social Media Coordinator).

Daily Execution Oversight:

Delegate day-to-day execution tasks (Shopify updates, email deployment, social media calendar) and ensure team alignment with strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Alignment:

Act as the primary interface between the creative/product development teams and the execution teams, ensuring seamless communication and resource flow for new product launches and promotions.
Required Qualifications & SkillsExperience & Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a quantitative field.

5+ years

of progressive experience, with at least

2 years in a leadership or managerial role

, specifically within a high-growth D2C or E-commerce brand. Startup preferred. Demonstrated experience

leading a multi-person team

responsible for digital marketing and/or operations execution. Proven expertise in

vendor negotiation, contract management

, and building sustainable artisan/supplier relationships (preferably in textile/handicrafts).
Technical & Core Competencies

Strategic Platform Knowledge:

High-level understanding of the D2C technology stack (Shopify/Klaviyo/IMS) and the ability to mentor and manage specialists who execute on these platforms. Understanding of Amazon and other marketplaces Advertising and listing processes.

Advanced Financial Acumen:

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar P&L lines, drive cost reduction initiatives, and make resource allocation decisions that directly improve Gross Margins and LTV.

Data-Driven Leadership:

Expert proficiency in utilizing Google Analytics and marketplace data to set organizational KPIs and define long-term growth strategies.

Automation and AI:

Use of AI tools and ensuring that the team is using automation in all the functions will be an important ask.

Process Governance & Delegation:

Proven history of designing scalable, repeatable processes, delegating execution effectively, and holding teams accountable for operational excellence.

Vision & Accountability:

A strategic mindset focused on building long-term value, combined with the accountability to deliver challenging KPIs in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.

Pay: ?800,000.00 - ?1,200,000.00 per year
