Objectives of the Position:


Provide leadership to the HR function and support with HR strategies in line with Business needs for the country. Drive and manage implementation of all HR services within BASFs policies and requirements that ensure efficient HR operations.


Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:


Be the advisor and consultant for HR matters for the Country's Top Management to facilitate consistent deployment of HR policies & processes across all BUs and functions. Devise HR policies & processes which are appropriate for the Company and in compliance with local labor legislative framework and in line with BASFs Global guidelines. Ensure the LtO topics delegated by the MD are implemented and adherence is periodically reported to the MD. Respond to "show-me" requests. Escalate any non-compliance to the MD and document appropriately. Be responsible for ensuring compliance with respect to BASFs license to operate in your area of responsibility. Compliance, in accordance with the BASF Code of Conduct manes adherence to: (1) applicable laws and regulations, (2) internal guidelines and policies, and, (3) ethical business practices. You will keep the MD informed of any and all matters concerning or impacting Compliance from time to time. Enable strategic workforce planning and support optimal organizational setup as well as effective capability deployment to help BUs achieve their goals. Professionally support restructuring and reorganization of BUs and handle separation processes. Conduct exit interviews, when appropriate, for continuous improvement purposes. Based on business demands, facilitate and support Talent Management and succession planning for management levels. Drive employee engagement initiatives and programs to foster a positive work culture and enhance employee satisfaction. Partner with Leadership to drive Performance culture Create and cascade Industrial Relations policy and framework for manufacturing sites and maintain effective Labor Relations with Union members across sites. Lead HR module for all M&A or investment projects in India in conjunction with Regional & Global HR and the relevant BUs in India Lead HR team: Plan and control the agreed team structure and manpower requirements, headcount and budget, establish development measures and appraise the performance of the team. Train and coach the team members and develop the succession planning in order to improve the working efficiency, quality and professional skills of the team members. Compile and review work records to determine department productivity, quality of output and cost of service. Develop methods to continually improve results. Streamline HR processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of HR services together with HR Services KL hub. Work closely with KL hub to standardize HR policies, procedures, and systems across the organization, promoting consistency and alignment. Monitor and analyze HR metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous process improvements and digitalization/automation. Manage HR budget, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient resource allocation.



Job Requirements:


Education: Minimum bachelor's in HR/law/psychology/business management.

Working Experience: 15 + years' experience in managerial position primarily in Human Resources.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

+ Good knowledge of human resources management and especially in union negotiations and labor law
+ Good communication skills
+ Excellent proficiency in English
