About the Role:

We are building a world-class Central Engineering Team to support our global oil and major asset Production and operations units. As the Head of Engineering - Production & Operations, you will lead the Facilities Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) part of Team bp powered by Quest Global center, driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and innovation across our global portfolio.


This is a strategic leadership role that combines deep engineering expertise with operational insight to shape the future of our Production & Operation facilities engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Facilities Engineering CoE, setting the vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with global asset needs. Act as a key member of the Central Engineering leadership team, contributing to cross-functional initiatives and long-term planning. Oversee engineering standards, design practices, and operational procedures for production and facilities engineering. Ensure compliance with international safety, environmental, and engineering regulations. Provide expert support to regional and asset-level engineering teams across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia. Foster collaboration across disciplines including process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. Champion the adoption of digital tools, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making in facilities operations. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in engineering design, asset integrity, and lifecycle management. Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technical specialists. Promote a culture of learning, safety, and operational excellence.

Travel Requirements:

Short visits, Willingness to travel to various global sites as needed

3-day hybrid work week.

Work Experience

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Chemical, or Facilities Engineering (or related discipline). 20+ years of experience in oil & gas or energy sector, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role. Proven track record in managing large-scale production and facilities engineering projects. Strong understanding of global engineering standards and regulatory frameworks. Experience working in a matrixed, multicultural, and geographically dispersed organization.

Preferred Skills:

Expertise in digital engineering tools (e.g., digital twins, asset performance management). Familiarity with sustainability and energy transition initiatives. * Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural leadership skills.
