Position Overview:
The Head of Department (HOD) for Paramedical - B.Voc Programs will be responsible for the comprehensive administration, academic excellence, faculty management, student development, industry collaboration, and placement outcomes for all paramedical programs run across the institute's branches. The role will include leadership in all aspects of the student journey -- from admission to final placement -- while ensuring the overall growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Curriculum Management
Design, update, and implement curriculum as per UGC/NSQF guidelines and healthcare industry standards.
Monitor academic delivery including theory, practical, and professional development classes.
Ensure quality education, hands-on training, and academic discipline across all branches.
Student Lifecycle & Development
Take complete ownership of student counselling, admissions, and orientation processes.
Oversee students' academic progress, attendance, grooming, and soft skills development.
Conduct regular student feedback sessions, mentoring, and career guidance programs.
Faculty & Team Management
Lead and manage paramedical faculty teams across all branches.
Conduct regular faculty meetings, training, evaluation, and development programs.
Ensure timely syllabus completion, lab management, and quality teaching standards.
Practical Training & Industrial Exposure:
Coordinate with hospitals, diagnostic labs, and healthcare institutions for hands-on training.
Organize clinical visits, guest lectures, industry workshops, and simulation-based learning.
Ensure that each student receives mandatory internship and skill exposure as per program requirements.
Placements & Career Support:
Build strong linkages with hospitals, healthcare providers, and diagnostic centers for placements.
Plan and execute placement preparation modules like mock interviews, resume writing, etc.
Achieve and improve placement targets branch-wise and course-wise.
Departmental Planning & Growth:
Formulate and execute short-term and long-term growth strategies for the department.
Collaborate with admission, marketing, and management teams to enhance visibility and student intake.
Represent the department in seminars, academic forums, affiliation and accreditation meetings.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Paramedical Sciences (e.g., MLT, Radiology, OT, etc.) from a recognized university.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in teaching, academic administration, or healthcare industry.
At least 3 years in a leadership or HOD position in a paramedical or allied health institute.
Familiarity with B.Voc programs, NSQF framework, and UGC/AICTE/Health Sector guidelines.
