Head of Department (HOD) - MBA DepartmentLocation :- Meerut .U.P

Job Summary: The Head of Department (HOD) for the MBA Department is responsible for providing academic leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight to ensure excellence in teaching, research, and student development. The HOD will manage faculty, curriculum design, industry engagement, and ensure compliance with accreditation and university standards while promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Academic Responsibilities1. Plan, implement, and monitor academic activities as per AICTE and University regulations.2. Oversee curriculum design, syllabus revision, and the introduction of innovative pedagogical practices.3. Ensure effective conduct of classes, internal assessments, examinations, and continuous evaluation.4. Promote quality enhancement initiatives and compliance with Outcome-Based Education (OBE).5. Facilitate faculty participation in FDPs, seminars, research, and conferences.

6. Encourage interdisciplinary learning and integration of emerging trends in management education.B. Research and Development

1. Promote research culture among faculty and students.

2. Facilitate funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and publications in reputed journals.

3. Encourage case study development and collaboration with industry and academia.

C. Faculty Management

1. Plan faculty recruitment as per AICTE norms and institutional needs.

2. Monitor faculty performance, mentoring, and professional development.

3. Ensure the preparation and maintenance of faculty appraisal reports and academic audit records.

D. Student Development and Welfare

1. Ensure academic mentoring, career guidance, and personal counseling for students.

2. Supervise co-curricular and extracurricular activities for holistic student development.

3. Facilitate internships, placements, and industry projects.

E. Industry-Institute Interaction

1. Develop and maintain linkages with industry for placements, training, and research collaboration.

2. Organize guest lectures, management conclaves, workshops, and industrial visits.

3. Promote collaboration through MoUs, consultancy, and corporate training programs.

F. Administration and Compliance

1. Ensure adherence to AICTE, University, and statutory body regulations in all departmental activities.

2. Prepare departmental budgets, annual reports, and compliance documents.

3. Maintain academic records, minutes of meetings, and documentation for audits and inspections.

4. Coordinate with the Principal/Director for institutional development and policy implementation.

G. Strategic and Institutional Development

1. Contribute to the strategic planning and vision of the institution.

2. Initiate new programs, certifications, and electives aligned with industry demand.3. Support accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance initiatives (AICTE, NBA, NAAC, ISO, etc.).4. Promote the use of digital learning platforms, innovation, and entrepreneurship activities.Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Management Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of teaching/research/industry experience, with at least 15 years in an academic leadership role (e.g., HOD, Program Chair, Academic Head). Desirable: Proven record of publications, research projects, and industry collaboration.
