Role Overview:
The
HOD - Electrical Projects
will be responsible for overall planning, execution, control, and delivery of
electrical works (LT, HT & up to 33 kV systems)
across multiple EPCC projects. The role demands strong leadership to manage
Project Managers and Site Engineers
, ensure
timely execution and billing
, and support the company's expansion into private sector EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Management
Head and manage all
electrical project execution activities
across Railways, State Government, and private sector projects.
Oversee planning, mobilization, execution methodology, and completion of electrical works.
Ensure execution as per
approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract conditions
.
Monitor project schedules, milestones, and productivity to meet
billing and revenue targets
.
Electrical Systems (Up to 33 kV)
Supervise execution of
general electrical works
, including:
LT distribution systems
HT systems up to
33 kV
Substations, transformers, panels, cabling, earthing, and lighting systems
Ensure compliance with relevant
codes, standards, safety norms, and statutory requirements
.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
Government Projects (Railways & State Departments)
Ensure compliance with
Indian Railways and State Government electrical standards, procedures, and inspection requirements
.
Coordinate with client engineers, inspectors, consultants, and statutory authorities for approvals and certifications.
Manage documentation, inspections, and statutory clearances.
Billing & Commercial Coordination
Ensure timely achievement of
billing targets
in coordination with billing and contracts teams.
Review progress-linked billing inputs, measurements, and certifications.
Support preparation and submission of
RA bills, final bills, variations, and extra items
.
Monitor billing vs. execution progress to improve
cash flow
.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
Lead, mentor, and manage
Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Supervisors, and Site Teams
across projects.
Allocate resources efficiently to meet project timelines and billing milestones.
Build a performance-driven culture focused on safety, quality, and delivery.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to
QA/QC procedures and safety standards
across all electrical works.
Implement safety systems, permit-to-work processes, and risk assessments.
Ensure proper documentation of test reports, inspection records, and commissioning certificates.
Private Sector Expansion
Support development and execution of
private sector EPC electrical projects
.
Introduce modern construction practices, productivity improvements, and cost-efficient execution strategies.
Provide technical and execution inputs during
tendering and pre-construction stages
.
Reporting & Management Interface
Prepare and present
project progress reports, billing forecasts, risks, and recovery plans
to senior management.
Identify execution and commercial risks and implement mitigation measures.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong expertise in
electrical project execution up to 33 kV systems
In-depth understanding of
EPCC electrical works and government project procedures
Proven leadership and multi-project management skills
Strong coordination between execution, billing, and commercial teams
Knowledge of
contracts, BOQs, drawings, and electrical specifications
Proficiency in
MS Excel, ERP systems, project planning tools, and MIS reporting
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering
(mandatory)
Postgraduate qualification in
Project Management / Construction Management
- preferred
Experience Requirements:
Minimum
12-15 years of experience
in electrical project execution
Mandatory experience in
EPCC / infrastructure / construction companies
Proven exposure to
Indian Railways and State Government projects
Hands-on experience in
general electrical and HT systems up to 33 kV
Experience handling
multiple projects and large execution teams
Private sector EPC experience will be an added advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
