The HOD - Computer Science will lead the Computer Science department, ensuring effective delivery of curriculum, high-quality teaching standards, and implementation of innovative learning approaches in technology. The role includes academic planning, teacher supervision, training, and designing activities related to computer literacy, coding, and STEM learning across grade levels.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
Plan, design, and implement Computer Science curriculum as per CBSE standards for Grades 1-12.
Monitor syllabus completion and ensure alignment with school academic calendar.
Introduce latest technological advancements like AI, coding platforms, robotics, etc.
Teaching Responsibilities
Teach Computer Science/ Informatics Practices for senior classes.
Evaluate student performance and arrange remedial sessions when required.
Administrative Responsibilities
Prepare lesson plans, yearly curriculum plans, assessments and evaluation papers.
Maintain departmental records, lab inventory, software licenses, and system maintenance coordination.
Ensure compliance with safety standards in computer labs.
Team Leadership
Train, mentor, and evaluate computer teachers across grade levels.
Conduct departmental meetings, academic reviews, and sharing of best practices.
Onboard new faculty in line with departmental processes.
Student Engagement & Skill Building
Organize coding events, exhibitions, and competitions.
Guide students on CBSE projects for secondary and senior secondary classes.
Prepare students for Olympiads, IT fairs, inter-school competitions, and technical certifications.
Technology Integration
Support teachers with digital tools and LMS usage.
Promote ICT integration across subjects.
Coordinate with IT team for smooth lab functioning and infrastructure planning.
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science / IT / MCA or relevant field.
Minimum 6-10 years teaching experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
Experience teaching CBSE Senior Secondary curriculum preferred.
Skills Required
Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science, Programming, IP, Python, C/C++, Databases.
Good leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Ability to innovate and implement technology initiatives.
Strong organizational, planning, and classroom management skills.
