Position: Head of Department (HOD) - Civil Projects



Industry: EPCC / Infrastructure / Construction



Experience: 12 to 15 Years (Construction / Infrastructure Projects)



Location: Head Office / Project Sites (as applicable)



Role Overview:



The

HOD - Civil Projects

will be responsible for overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of civil works for EPCC projects. The role requires extensive experience in government infrastructure projects (Indian Railways & State Departments), strong leadership capability, technical expertise, and the ability to scale operations for private sector expansion.

Key Responsibilities:



Project Planning & Execution



Head and manage all

civil construction activities

across multiple EPCC projects. Ensure timely execution of projects in line with

approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and schedules

. Oversee project planning, resource mobilization, construction methodology, and sequencing of works. Monitor progress against milestones and take corrective actions to meet timelines and budgets.

Government Projects (Railways & State Departments)



Ensure compliance with

Indian Railways standards, codes, and specifications

. Handle coordination with

Railway officials, State Government authorities, consultants, and auditors

. Ensure adherence to contract conditions, safety norms, quality requirements, and reporting formats mandated by authorities. Manage inspections, measurements, certifications, and approvals.

Quality, Safety & Compliance



Ensure strict adherence to

quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)

systems. Implement and monitor

safety standards

, statutory compliance, and environmental norms across sites. Ensure proper documentation, test records, method statements, and compliance reports.

Cost Control & Commercial Coordination



Monitor project costs and support

cost optimization and value engineering initiatives

. Coordinate with procurement, contracts, and finance teams for materials, subcontracting, and billing. Review and certify

RA bills, final bills, variations, and extra items

. Control wastages and improve productivity at project sites.

Team Leadership & Coordination



Lead, mentor, and manage

project managers, engineers, planning, and site teams

. Ensure effective coordination with

electrical, signaling, telecom, procurement, QA/QC, and safety departments

. Build a high-performance team culture focused on delivery, quality, and safety.

Private Sector Expansion



Support the organization's

entry and growth in private sector projects

. Introduce efficient construction practices, modern technologies, and productivity improvements. Contribute to pre-construction planning, feasibility inputs, and execution strategies for private clients.

Reporting & Management Interface



Prepare and present

project status reports, MIS, risk assessments, and recovery plans

to management. Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation measures. Support management in strategic planning and capacity expansion.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong technical expertise in

civil construction and EPCC project execution

In-depth knowledge of

Railway and State Government construction standards

Leadership and multi-project management capabilities Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Knowledge of

contracts, claims, variations, and construction law basics

Proficiency in

project planning tools, MS Excel, ERP systems, and MIS reporting

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Educational Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in

Civil Engineering

(mandatory) Master's degree / MBA (Project Management / Construction Management) - preferred

Experience Requirements:



Minimum

12-15 years of experience

in civil project execution Mandatory experience in

EPCC / infrastructure / construction companies

Proven exposure to

Indian Railways and State Government projects

Experience in

private sector construction projects

will be an added advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
