Position Summary:
The Headmistress will oversee the effective operation of the Preschool and Daycare, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality curriculum and excellent administrative standards. This role involves developing and implementing curriculum frameworks, managing staff, overseeing admissions, and ensuring the overall development of the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manpower Management:
Hiring: Ensure hiring aligns with the organizational structure, admission projections, and budget.
Interviews: Conduct interviews, demos, and behavioral assessments.
Onboarding: Orient staff on processes and code of conduct.
2. Curriculum Development & Implementation:
Quality Assessment: Evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the curriculum.
Child Development: Assess children's progress and ensure age-appropriate teaching practices.
Cultural Sensitivity: Understand and incorporate local and foreign HNI sensitivities.
Language Proficiency: English fluency (5/5), with proficiency in Kannada, Hindi, and one additional language (French/German/Spanish/Chinese) preferred.
Qualifications: A background in special education, business management, or child psychology is advantageous.
3. Academic & Non-Academic Planning:
Resource Allocation: Ensure availability of learning materials and resources within budget.
Classroom Environment: Maintain a conducive learning environment with necessary educational and recreational materials.
Event Planning: Manage the planning and execution of events, ensuring they are creative, engaging, and budget-friendly.
4. Daycare Management
Activity Planning: Oversee engaging activities beyond classroom learning.
Supplies Management: Ensure adequate stock of diapers, feeding supplies, and other essentials.
Staff Training: Ensure staff are trained in nap schedules, hygiene protocols, and safety measures.
5. Staff Training & Supervision:
Instructional Support: Provide resources and training to assist teachers in effective curriculum delivery.
Evaluation: Conduct regular class audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
Professional Development: Plan and recommend staff training and development activities.
6. Admissions & Marketing Support:
Admissions: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for increasing admissions.
Parent Engagement: Professionally engage with parents, particularly HNIs and expatriates, to discuss admissions.
Target Audience: Have a thorough understanding of the target audience within a 10 km radius.
7. Report & Record Maintenance:
Documentation: Ensure timely collection and maintenance of reports and records.
Data Validation: Validate admissions, purchases, and budget allocation data.
School Management Software: Experience with school management software is desirable.
Requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor's/master's in education with certifications like NTT/MTT/ECCED.
Experience: 4-5 years as a Head of a school.
Leadership: Strong team leadership, mentorship, and training capabilities.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and children.
Organizational Skills: Strong business acumen, multitasking ability, and attention to detail.
Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize and solve problems effectively.
Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
