Head - Legal

Key roles and responsibilities :

- Drafting, reviewing and managing a wide range of commercial contracts, including EPC Contracts, O&M Contracts, Financing Agreements, Land Aggregation MOUs, Service/ Consultancy Contracts, NDAs, Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds and other company contracts;

- Providing timely, accurate, independent and commercial pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders while highlighting/managing legal and commercial risk;

- Assisting is formulating strategy for resolution of contractual disputes;

- Providing day-to-day legal support to the business of the Company in India for all phases of the project life cycle;

- Legal validation of processes and policies of the Company including, business development, marketing, sales, human resources, finance, commercial, acquisition, customer service, etc.;

- When involved in projects/ transactions, attention to detail yet have an overview of the material aspects of the project/ transactions and highlight legal and commercial issues and risk to the team;

- Execution, implementation and enforcement of covenants of agreements;

- Reviewing/ preparing tender documents/ RfPs/ RfQs and providing legal opinion/ risk analysis on relevant clauses therein;

- Be updated with finer nuances of commercial and legal contracts being negotiated in renewable energy industry;

- Ensuring legal compliance of terms of the Contracts/ tender documents, etc.; and Create awareness of compliance with relevant laws and regulations and ensure adherence

Qualifications, skills and experience :

- Bachelor's degree in Law (Premier Law Institute)

- Around 15 years of relevant experience in solar/renewables industries / Law Firm.

- Ability to work in a fast-growing Company and align with Company's initiatives;

- Independent, hands-on and driven with the aptitude and attitude to learn, embrace and adapt to changes;

- Dedication to the transaction/ projects you are handling, with a problem-solving approach and ability to work with relevant stakeholders to drive successful completion of transactions/ projects;

- Experience of working in solar power industry and handling PPA related issues will be an added advantage;

- Knowledge of land acquisition related issues and processes will be an added advantage;

- Creative thinking skills;

- Knowledge of substantive contractual, business, commercial and property laws.
