Job Title: Head of Land Acquisition

Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:


Formulate and implement a comprehensive land acquisition strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives.


Identify high-potential regions for renewable energy development using data-driven analysis and market intelligence.


Land Identification & Due Diligence:


Evaluate land suitability based on factors such as grid proximity, solar/wind resource potential, topography, and local regulations.


Coordinate feasibility studies, title verification, and land surveys.





Negotiation & Acquisition:


Lead negotiations with landowners, government bodies, and intermediaries to secure land rights through purchase, lease, or other legal instruments.


Ensure fair and transparent agreements in line with company policy and legal frameworks.





Team & Stakeholder Management:


Build and lead a multidisciplinary land acquisition team across regions.


Collaborate closely with project development, legal, engineering, and finance teams to ensure seamless project execution.


Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and external consultants.





Compliance & Documentation:


Oversee all documentation related to land acquisition, including MoUs, sale deeds, lease agreements, and government approvals.


Ensure compliance with land laws, environmental regulations, and internal governance standards.





Risk Management:


Identify potential risks (legal, social, environmental) associated with land transactions and develop mitigation strategies.





Reporting & Analysis:


Maintain a centralized land acquisition database and provide regular status reports to senior management.


Track progress against KPIs, budget, and project timelines.


Qualifications & Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field (Master's preferred).


20-25 years of experience in land acquisition, preferably in the renewable energy, infrastructure sectors.


Proven track record of successfully securing large-scale land parcels for utility-scale renewable energy projects.


Strong understanding of land laws, property rights, and state-level regulations in India (or relevant geography).
