Today, NHPL has close to 9000 employees consisting of Pharmacists, scientists, doctors, chemists, statisticians, marketers, and top-drawer finance professionals working for in all functions ranging from research and development of drugs in multiple geographies to driving their commercialization all based out of Hyderabad. The Head of Global Finance Master Data Hyderabad leads the service line of Global Finance Master Data (R2R Master Data, O2C Master Data, Fixed Assets Master Data and EDO support activities) within the Hyderabad Novartis Corporate Center (NOCC) and is accountable for the end-to-end service delivery for the Novartis Group. This key leadership role is also responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of all master data elements, systems, documentation, compliance and reporting by applying tight controls and governance over business objects, while at the same time delivering a strong stakeholder and customer centric service. He or she will leverage existing best practice processes as a source of competitive advantage. He or she will work closely with the GFMD Reporting Enablement Lead and other regional leads on continuous improvement projects in relation to the way we leverage our systems and will ensure proper documentation and controls are in place to provide highly effective and efficient end-to-end processes to the Novartis divisions. Your responsibilities include but not limited to: . Leadership and Management: Leads the GFMD teams to provide quality services to the Divisions and provides hands-on support during the day-to-day activities of the respective teams to ensure effective decision-making. Has the operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling exceptions that arise. Provides functional guidance from a master data standpoint to support business transactions. . Interacts proactively within NOCC\'s and Divisions to ensure accurate financial Reporting. Leads collaboration with key stakeholders, including senior level cross-Novartis entities business colleagues, accounting authorities/auditors and Novartis local entity/group financial reporting and accounting. Manages client satisfaction assessment and follow-up process. Leads transformation into process-oriented organization and ensures processes are migrated to the blueprint as per agreed timelines. Sets a clear strategic vision for the service line, ensuring alignment with NOCC strategy and communicates to all staff and key customers. Ensures all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined and fully documented. . Ensures compliance with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and regulatory requirements. Ensures application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively supports delivery of SOX certification. Promotes a strong control environment and follows up on audit issues by implementing corrective measures. Identifies and mitigates any data integrity risks through rigorous enforcing of the data quality and governance. GFMD foresight: is able to translates the vision for the group and program into clear strategies . People and Organization: Actively supports NOCC working style by being a role model who exemplifies an inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven culture in alignment with Novartis values and behaviors. Creates service-oriented culture to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and contributes to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating a customer service focused culture. . Manages a diverse team (on/ off-shore) to deliver a high-performing organization and drives improvements/standard solutions, while driving a high degree of collaboration. Sets goals and conduct performance appraisals. Provides mentoring, guidance and feedback to direct reports to support long-term career development of key talent. . Provides opportunities for learning and self-development. Manages a team of (Process) Data Team Leads / GFMD operators and manages their work to resolve issues maintain standards and guidelines manage data quality and support the mechanics of the data governance processes. Supports in the identification of NOCC GFMD operations team training needs and shares information with onsite teams and with counterparts in the other regions. . Performance Management and Service Delivery-Ensures operational excellence and compliance in running the GFMD operations teams in NOCC HYDERABAD, for all countries, processes and data objects in scope (around 20 countries and 15 FTEs). Acts as an escalation path for issues and works with the Global team to ensure that appropriate troubleshooting efforts are conducted for recurring problems until permanent solutions are implemented. Monitors and implements KPI\'s for associated data objects in line with overall GFMD data standards and shares best practices with other regional GFMD head in Prague, Mexico and Kuala Lumpur . Works with the business, IT, data specialists, and other relevant team members to ensure that requested data and related process changes are implemented in a timely fashion. Ensures overall Hyderabad GFMD operations teams performance. Ensures overall Hyderabad global finance data quality. Supports cross-functional Data/Master Data and Platforms Org solution delivery projects and collaborates with/ provides input on data impacts to relevant stakeholders. Evaluates progress and success against performance standards. Appraises and resolves deficiencies and challenges. Ensures deadlines are met and keeps stakeholders informed of project/program status. Diversity & Inclusion / EEO Minimum Requirements What you\'ll bring to the role: . University level degree in Business Administration / Economics / Finance or Chartered Accountant / Technology-related Engineering / MBA desirable. Lean / Six Sigma Certified preferred . 10 years of in-depth finance functional expertise with exposure to master data management. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization. . Experience in project management and project implementation, including budget management. Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements. . Expertise in Proof of Concept on master data technologies in order to demonstrate strategic process improvement value. Previous experience in a leading role within financial shared services.
