About The Role



We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Finance and Accounting to lead the department. This role will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP. Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to senior management. Manage external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and resolve any issues. Manage tax strategy, ensuring compliance, optimizing tax liabilities, and providing expert guidance on tax-related matters. Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement. Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all financial regulations. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Ideal Candiate



CA desired 7-10 years of experience in accounting with strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software] is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. High level of integrity and dependability. Ability to think strategically and provide solutions for business challenges Experience in a start-up environment is desired

Presentation & communication skills

: can brief founders/VCs in simple, decision-oriented language.

Analytical tools

: Excel modelling, dashboards, KPI tracking, variance analysis.

Stakeholder management

: experience preparing board decks, investor updates, lender packages.

Strategic finance exposure

: budgeting, fundraising support, forecasting, cost optimisation, and tax strategy.

Day-to-Day Split



60%

- "hard" finance: reporting, compliance, audits, controls, team supervision.

40%

- "advisory" finance: forecasting, insights, board decks, recommendations, strategic decision support.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹3,000,000.00 - ₹3,500,000.00 per year
