Position Summary:

The Head - Operations (Environment Development Program) will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of all environmental development projects of Utkarsh Global Foundation. This includes large-scale plantation drives, Miyawaki forests, city forest development, garden development, roadside and highway plantations, and green belt development projects in alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution

Develop annual and project-wise operational plans aligned with the foundation's environment strategy. Lead execution of plantation programs, Miyawaki forest projects, city forests, gardens, roadside plantations, and highway green belts. Ensure projects are implemented within timelines, budgets, and quality parameters.

Project Management

Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for proposed initiatives. Plan resource allocation including manpower, materials, contractors, and vendors. Monitor project progress through defined KPIs and reporting mechanisms.

Technical Expertise

Provide technical guidance on species selection, plantation techniques, soil and water management, and maintenance protocols. Develop SOPs for plantation, garden development, and Miyawaki methodology implementation.

Stakeholder Management

Liaise with government bodies, municipal corporations, forest departments, and other regulatory authorities for permissions and approvals. Build partnerships with corporates, funding agencies, and community groups for collaborative projects.

Team Leadership

Lead and motivate the operations team including project managers, field staff, horticulturists, and volunteers. Ensure training and capacity building of the team for quality execution and innovation.

Monitoring & Evaluation

Develop monitoring frameworks and ensure regular evaluation of survival rates, growth rates, and ecological impact of plantations. Submit impact assessment reports to the management and stakeholders.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all projects adhere to statutory and environmental regulations. Maintain thorough documentation, MIS, and project records for audits and reporting.

Innovation & Growth

Introduce innovative, sustainable, and scalable models for environment development. Keep abreast with national and international best practices in environmental development for integration into foundation programs.

Key Requirements:

Master's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Botany, Agriculture, or allied disciplines. Minimum

10-15 years

of experience in execution of large-scale environmental development programs with NGOs, CSR projects, or government initiatives. Proven expertise in plantation management, Miyawaki methodology, urban forestry, and green belt development. Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Excellent communication, reporting, and negotiation abilities. Passion for environment, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.
