Head – Employee Assistance & Mental Wellbeing (eap)

Year    KA, IN, India

Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Lead the EAP business as a distinct growth vertical: full P&L ownership, operational excellence, product differentiation (beyond low-cost tele
consult models), client outcome delivery, and

international network expansion in Asia & Middle East

--building a clinically robust, scalable and data-driven mental wellbeing offering.

Key Accountability Areas

P&L Ownership & Growth

Annual revenue, gross margin & EBITDA targets for EAP vertical. Pricing strategy (enterprise, tiered bundles, outcome-based / utilization-linked models). Drive upsell / cross-sell across existing corporate accounts (integration with preventive, primary & OPD).

Market & International Expansion

Build & accredit a cross-border provider network (psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, coaches) with defined credentialing standards. Launch in priority geographies with localized clinical, language & cultural capability. Strategic partnerships/JVs with regional EAPs, tele
mental health startups, or global networks for rapid footprint.

Product & Differentiation

Define product roadmap: guided care pathways, CBT/DBT digital tools, resilience programs, manager enablement modules, crisis intervention, leadership coaching, analytics dashboards. Integrate with RxN platform & wellness engagement layer; ensure seamless SSO & data flows.

Clinical Quality & Compliance

Establish and audit clinical governance: credentialing, session quality scoring, supervision models, escalation protocols (suicide risk, trauma, substance use). Ensure compliance with Indian and target-country regulations (data privacy, cross-border practice rules).

Operations & Delivery Excellence

SLA adherence (response time, counsellor allocation, incident resolution). Scalable scheduling, multilingual support, 24/7 helpline / chat architecture. Automation for triage, utilization forecasting, and capacity planning.

Data, Outcomes & ROI

Define outcome framework: utilization quality mix, symptom improvement indices (PHQ
9, GAD
7), absenteeism / presenteeism correlations, engagement depth (repeat sessions, digital tool adoption). Produce quarterly "Mental Wellbeing Impact Reports" for strategic clients.

Brand & Thought Leadership

Position Truworth EAP as "comprehensive mental wellbeing & behavioural health platform"--differentiated from 'helpline-only' models currently prevalent in some regions. Publish whitepapers, speak at industry forums, support internal thought leadership narratives.

Team Leadership & Culture

Build a high-performing, mission-driven team; institute OKR discipline. Develop internal counsellor / coach capability pipeline (train-the-trainer).

Risk & Governance

Incident management & root cause analysis (clinical incidents). Vendor & partner risk assessments.

Client Success & Retention

Improve retention, NPS, contract expansions; reduce churn. Executive business reviews (ROI storytelling & benchmarks).

Candidate Profile

Experience

10+ years total; 5-7+ years in building or scaling mental health / EAP / health benefits / behavioural health or allied healthcare service lines. Prior P&L or large business unit ownership (
USD 5M equivalent). Demonstrated international provider or partner network expansion (preferably in emerging markets). Exposure to enterprise B2B sales cycles with large corporates / insurers / brokers. Familiarity with clinical governance & mental health outcome instruments (PHQ
9, GAD
7, WHODAS, etc.).

Competencies

Strategic & commercial acumen: pricing, unit economics, margin management. Operational rigor: building processes, SLA dashboards, capacity models. Clinical empathy with business lens--able to translate outcomes to corporate ROI. Partnership negotiation (white-label, JV, exclusivity structures). Data fluency: can interrogate cohort utilization, funnel leakage, intervention efficacy. Strong executive communication & narrative storytelling. Change leadership & talent development.

Education

MBA / Master's in Health Administration or equivalent preferred. Clinical background (psychology / psychiatry / counselling) is a plus but not mandatory if strong exposure to clinical operations exists.

Personal Attributes

Mission-driven about mental health impact. Excellent skills in inter function collaboration. Comfort with ambiguity & build-scale rhythm (from structured ops to innovation). International cultural sensitivity.
