Head - Cost Accounting
Location - Mumbai
(Regular engagement with Silvassa Manufacturing Plant and Morbi operations)
Reporting
Functional: Chief Financial Officer

About the Role
At NITCO, cost is not a back-office activity; it is a strategic lever.
The Head - Cost Accounting will build clarity, discipline, and predictability into manufacturing economics across plants, enabling leaders to make faster, smarter, margin-accretive decisions. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and procurement. You will translate complex plant data into insights that influence how we price, invest, source, and produce.
What You'll Do

• Build Cost Transparency
• Own product costing, standard costing frameworks, and periodic cost updates
• Lead variance analysis with a strong bias toward root-cause diagnosis and action
• Drive Manufacturing Efficiency
• Partner with plant leadership to track manufacturing efficiency and cost drivers
• Identify opportunities for waste reduction, productivity improvement, and margin expansion
• Enable Planning & Decision-Making
• Lead plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Deliver clear, decision-ready MIS for plant and corporate leadership
• Strengthen Inventory & Working Capital Discipline
• Own inventory valuation, controls, and reporting
• Drive improvements in inventory turns and working capital utilization
• Scale Systems & Controls
• Strengthen ERP-based costing systems and internal controls
• Support audits with high-quality data, documentation, and governance
• Support Strategic Investments
• Evaluate capex proposals, ROI, and post-investment outcomes
• Lead make-vs-buy and cost benchmarking analyses
• Partner with Procurement
• Work closely with procurement teams on material and logistics cost structures
• Support vendor negotiations with data-backed cost insights

Who You Are

• CA / CMA (preferred)
• 6-8 years of hands-on cost accounting experience in manufacturing
• Deep comfort with plant finance, ERP systems, and operational data
• Strong business judgment--able to connect numbers to real-world decisions
• Collaborative, low-ego, and comfortable influencing without authority
• Mumbai-based, with the ability to engage deeply with plant teams
• What Success Looks Like (12-18 Months)
• Clear, trusted cost data used consistently in leadership decisions
• Reduced cost variances and tighter cost controls
• Measurable improvement in gross margins
• Strong cost governance embedded across plants
