Purpose:
To manage the end-to-end process of business development, enquiry generation, estimation, proposal preparation, and commercial strategy. The role demands strong techno-commercial acumen and experience in handling large-scale fabrication, manufacturing, and engineering tenders and proposals.
Tasks / Roles and Responsibilities
Commercial & Estimation
Lead the preparation of commercial offers, cost estimations, and price proposals for tenders and Requests for quotation.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to prepare competitive and estimates.
Technical clarifications/discussions alone may discuss with inter-linked departments if required.
Prepare costing sheets
Ensure all commercial proposals comply with legal, tax, and contractual standards.
Proposal Management
Handle end-to-end proposal documentation, bid submissions, and tender process coordination.
Technical clarifications/discussions alone may discuss with inter-linked departments if required.
Track tender portals and manage pre-bid queries, clarifications, and customer interactions.
Ensure timely and error-free submissions for government, Public Sector Undertaking, and private sector clients.
Customer Communication and delivery
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering relationships.
Ensure efficient and effective Order delivery
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the heavy engineering, aerospace, Deep space Network, and high-spec manufacturing sectors.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, and government agencies.
Represent the company in client meetings, pre-bid conferences, and trade shows.
Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and industry trends.

Experience:

Preferred Skills:
Strong experience in techno-commercial roles, especially related to DSN/ISRO/DRDO/Nuclear/Defence projects
Excellent knowledge of project costing, pricing strategies, and contract terms
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and ERP systems
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Attention to detail, time management, and leadership ability
Good command over English and Tamil ( Hindi is an added advantage).
