Job Summary:

The

Head Cashier

is responsible for overseeing all cash-related operations, ensuring smooth handling of daily cash transactions, accurate cash accounting, and adherence to company policies. This role also involves supervision of cash assistants, maintaining cash registers, reconciling cash flows, and supporting audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise all daily cash transactions across branches, factory units, or retail outlets. Maintain accurate records of cash inflow and outflow, petty cash, and voucher systems. Ensure timely deposit of cash collections into company bank accounts and reconcile cash balances. Verify and authorize employee reimbursements, vendor cash payments, and customer refunds. Prepare daily cash summary reports and submit to Accounts Head / Director. Maintain physical cashbook and digital cash registers as per accounting standards. Ensure security and safe custody of cash at all times. Support internal/external audits related to cash handling and documentation. Monitor adherence to company's cash handling and advance policies. Train and manage subordinate cashiers or assistants.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong numerical and accounting accuracy. Trustworthy and detail-oriented. Proficiency in Tally / Excel / ERP cash modules. Ability to handle pressure and maintain confidentiality. Good supervisory and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in manufacturing units, retail counters, or factory accounts preferred. Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic tax handling a plus.
