Job Description

A Head Cashier in retail is responsible for overseeing the front-end operations, including supervising cashiers, managing checkout areas, and providing customer service. They ensure smooth and efficient transactions, handle customer issues, and train and mentor cashiers. Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Training:

Oversee and train cashiers, ensuring they follow procedures and provide excellent customer service.

Checkout Operations:

Manage the checkout area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient service.

Customer Service:

Handle customer complaints, questions, and needs, escalating issues when necessary.

Cash Handling:

Ensure accurate cash handling procedures, balancing tills, and generating reports.

Inventory and Product Knowledge:

Maintain knowledge of store inventory and product placement to assist customers.

Team Management:

Assign tasks, schedule shifts, and provide support to the cashier team.

Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cash registers and other equipment.

Store Operations:

Assist in other front-end tasks as needed, such as bagging items or opening/closing the store.
