GCC UK Building Services is an established team and is responsible for delivering comprehensive planning, design, and consultancy services, to both private and public sector clients in the UK. Projects vary from small single discipline tasks to supporting major multidisciplinary projects.


The successful candidate, working with the UK based teams, will bring their expertise, capability, and knowledge to provide operational leadership to our existing team to enable them to meet the business and client needs.


As GCC Head of UK Building Services, you will be responsible for the health, safety & welfare of the team. The Head of Department is expected to demonstrate effective & visible leadership, focusing on the ongoing engagement and retention of employees through the development of individuals and building high performing teams. Your role is to drive performance, innovation, and efficiency to achieve defined commercial and growth targets.


You will work closely with UK Building Services leadership team and be a member of the India Senior Management Team, required to demonstrate collaborative behaviours to support the development and enhancement of the wider business. You will be responsible for the operational, financial and commercial delivery of projects undertaken by the team.


Take full responsibility for the strategic direction, operational efficiency, and growth of the Building Services team. You will work closely with UK Building Services leadership team and be a member of the India Senior Management Team, required to demonstrate collaborative behaviours to support the development and enhancement of the wider business.


The ideal candidate shall bring a strong understanding of the UK Building Services industry


Proven track record of successfully leading large, complex teams and projects, particularly in a consulting capacity. Strong vision and enthusiasm for driving the growth and impact of the Building Services unit in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Set and drive strategic goals for the unit, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. Promote WSP's vision, core values and culture within the team. Act as the senior point of contact for UK teams and stakeholders, translating complex insights into actionable recommendations Present strategic updates and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders. Align objectives with organizational goals and KPIs, contributing to business development. Provide direction for resource management, retention, succession planning, and staff development to build a resilient and agile team Maintain excellent relationships to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction, seeking feedback for continuous improvement. Responds promptly to support requests and works collaboratively to address gaps in the internal team knowledge base. Supports growth by sharing expertise, participating in recruitment, and contributing to succession planning. Proactively drives personal and team development, setting objectives, providing feedback, and integrating learning. Handle conflict appropriately and embrace diverse perspectives. Identify qualified staff for project delivery within budget established. Explore ways to add value and improve performance for self and team. Manage opportunities, risks, and changes to benefit the business. Ensure project engagement targets are met or exceeded

Bachelor / Master's degree in related discipline CEng (or equivalent) with membership in an accredited engineering body. Experienced professional with substantial experience in people management, business objectives delivery / leadership in a consulting engineering environment. 20+ years of relevant experience.
