The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in coffee preparation, overseeing barista staff, managing coffee inventory, and ensuring a premium coffee experience for every customer. This role is both hands-on and strategic, combining technical expertise with leadership and operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Coffee Expertise & Preparation
Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee beverages with precision and consistency.
Ensure all drinks meet company quality standards and follow established recipes.
Demonstrate expert knowledge of coffee beans, roast profiles, grind sizes, extraction methods, and brewing techniques.
Leadership & Training
Lead and mentor the barista team, providing regular training on brewing methods, customer service, and coffee knowledge.
Set performance standards and ensure adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Quality Control
Conduct regular quality checks on all coffee-related products and equipment.
Monitor espresso machine calibration, grinder settings, and water quality.
Work closely with roasters and suppliers to maintain consistency in bean quality.
Customer Experience
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by creating a welcoming environment.
Educate customers about different types of coffee, origin stories, and brewing techniques when appropriate.
Handle customer feedback professionally and efficiently.
Menu Development (Optional)
Collaborate with the F&B team to develop seasonal or signature coffee drinks.
Innovate and test new beverages to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a senior barista, head barista, or similar leadership role in a specialty coffee environment.
Deep knowledge of coffee beans, origins, processing methods, brewing techniques, and latte art.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to train and inspire a team.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food and beverage service.
Passion for coffee and customer experience.
Barista certifications are a plus.
