Job Title: A&R Leader
Location: Mumbai
Reporting To: ZMC - Business Head
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in A&R, artist management, or music production, preferably within a leading music label, indie company, or creative agency.
Role Overview
ZMC is building a forward-thinking music label with a focus on artist-led storytelling and diverse soundscapes across languages and genres. The A&R Leader will be at the heart of this mission discovering, developing, and curating breakthrough artists, songwriters, and producers.
The ideal candidate brings strong creative instincts, deep relationships within the music ecosystem, and the ability to translate artistic vision into commercially successful releases that shape contemporary culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Discovery & DevelopmentScout and sign new artists, composers, and producers across genres from indie and pop to regional and experimental sounds. Build strong creative relationships and guide talent through the entire artistic journey from concept to release. Mentor artists on songwriting, sound design, and production direction to elevate creative output.

2. Creative Direction & ProductionLead song curation, demo evaluation, and project execution in collaboration with internal and external producers. Work with artists and creative partners to deliver impactful releases with clear artistic identity. Supervise studio sessions, collaborations, and creative workshops to drive innovation.

3. Strategic Alignment & CollaborationPartner with Marketing and Streaming teams to align creative output with market strategy and audience insights. Collaborate with the Content and Visual teams to ensure storytelling extends seamlessly from music to visual identity. Balance creativity with commercial goals nsuring each release contributes to the label's long-term brand value.

4. Market Intelligence & Industry RelationsStay ahead of cultural and music trends across India and globally. Maintain strong relationships with artist managers, producers, and digital creators. Represent ZMC at music events, festivals, and industry forums to strengthen the label's creative presence.

Qualifications & SkillsProven track record of identifying and developing successful music talent. Deep understanding of music production, songwriting, and evolving digital landscapes. Strong creative judgment and a collaborative mindset. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to balance creative passion with business discipline.
