Sr Component Engineer

Location: Bangalore


Preferred Skills


o Snr Component Engineer with hands on experience on Electrical specifications, PCB design, Schematics design, component ratings & DFx skills


o Sound technical domain knowledge of electrical & electromechanical concepts and applications - components, schematics, electrical system, PCB, cable & harness


o Component obsolescence forecasting and risk mitigation strategies


o Component selection; alternate source identification & FFF Validation


o BOM Analysis / Comparison (Module Impact and Structure Analysis)


o Product Lifecycle Methodology and PLM / ERP tools


o Engineering change management methodology


o CAD & PCB design and tools


o Environmental Directives & Compliance (RoHS/REACH/WEEE)


o Safety Compliance (UL/CSA/FCC)


Materials Mgmt - Risk analysis & LTB estimation

Responsibilities:

o Conduct obsolescence risk assessment for prompt risk mitigation strategy and implementation to ensure product manufacturability and sustenance.


o Identify alternate solutions and validate FFF compatibility.


Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and qualify alternate solutions. Lead design engineer discussions for alternative parts selection review and provide technical recommendation
o Collaborate with the supply chain organisation to secure inventory basis supply-demand projections and product roadmaps.


o Execute engineering changes ensuring compliance to standard procedures.


o Maintain records of the obsolescence projects incl. priority, mitigation actions, status, etc.


o Complete assigned projects / tasks ensuring compliance to productivity and quality goals.


o Participate in resolving PCB designer, electrical engineers changes, complaints & escalations by applying quality methods for corrective-preventive actions.


Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to increase team's overall effectiveness Hands on experience with IHS, Silicon expert and such parts lifecycle tools

Education:

Diploma/Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Work Experience:

5 to 8 years work experience in a similar position
