Key responsibilities

Design assistance:

Support the creation of schematics and CAD layouts for hardware components and circuit boards.

Testing and validation:

Assist in testing hardware to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards, which may include soldering components and using tools like oscilloscopes to test voltage and signals.

Troubleshooting:

Help diagnose and resolve hardware issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and fix defects.

Documentation:

Aid in creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as design documents, test plans, and specifications.

Collaboration:

Work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, PCB teams, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration and identify solutions.

Component management:

Support new component research and selection, and interact with vendors.

Basic calculations:

Perform basic design calculations for things like power and filter circuits.
Required skills and qualifications

Education:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering is typically required.

Technical knowledge:

A strong foundation in hardware design principles and electronics is necessary.

Tool proficiency:

Familiarity with schematic drafting and layout tools like OrCAD, Altium, or PADS is often preferred.

Problem-solving:

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential for diagnosing and resolving hardware issues.

Communication:

The ability to communicate effectively with different teams is important for collaboration.
