Senior Hardware Architect role within the R&D function, responsible for defining and owning the hardware architecture of embedded electrical and electronic products.
Accountable for translating customer and product requirements into compliant, reliable, and cost-effective hardware designs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end hardware design activities including requirement analysis, application study, circuit design, schematic approval, and PCB layout review.
Ensure product compliance with relevant standards such as EMI/EMC (CE, RE, CS, RS), IEC standards, and IPC guidelines for PCB design.
Drive hardware verification and validation activities, including review and approval of test methodologies, test cases, and validation results prior to product release.
Oversee multiple development projects by planning design schedules, tracking progress, managing costs, and reporting status to senior management.
Support value engineering initiatives through alternate component selection and cost optimization without compromising performance or reliability.
Work closely with firmware, software, mechanical, testing, manufacturing, QA, and product engineering teams to ensure smooth transition from design to mass production with strong DFM focus.
Interface with suppliers, customers, and external test labs for component selection, technical resolution, product testing, and field or belt complaint resolution.
People & Performance Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the hardware design team, including identifying resource requirements and enabling required tools and training.
Define KRAs, monitor performance, recognize key achievements, and manage performance data in coordination with HR and senior leadership.
Participate in team building, motivation, and capability development aligned with organizational goals.
Skill & Experience Expectations
12-15 years of experience in embedded hardware design within the electrical/electronics product domain.
Strong expertise in mixed-signal design, power supply topologies, hardware simulation tools, and electronic component selection.
Good exposure to PLC and HMI product design is an added advantage.
