Key Responsibilities
Perform routine examinations and screenings of women's reproductive and sexual health (e.g., pelvic exams, Pap smears, breast exams).
Diagnose and treat a broad range of gynaecologic conditions such as infections (STIs), endometriosis, infertility, hormone disorders, menstrual problems.
Provide prenatal, antenatal, postnatal care (if involved in obstetrics): monitor pregnancies, deliver babies, manage labour & delivery complications.
Perform surgical and minimally invasive procedures: e.g., hysterectomies, laparoscopy, sterilisation, tubal ligation, D&C, myomectomy.
Provide counselling / education: family planning (contraception / sterilisation), menopause management, sexual health, preventive care.
Maintain accurate patient medical records, review lab/imaging results, revise treatment plans as needed.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (nurses, midwives, specialists) and refer patients when needed.
Stay updated with latest guidelines, research, and best practices in gynaecology & obstetrics.
Possibly supervise trainees or junior staff (in hospital/academic setting) and participate in departmental activities.
