Resident Medical Officer (RMO) in Gynecology & Obstetrics

.

Role Overview:

They are doctors (usually MBBS qualified, sometimes with DGO/MD pursuing) posted in the gynecology/obstetrics department of a hospital. Their duty is to provide

round-the-clock medical support

for patients admitted under the gynecology & maternity unit.

Key Responsibilities:

Attending OPD and IPD gynecology/obstetrics cases Conducting initial patient assessment and monitoring vitals Assisting consultants during deliveries, C-sections, and surgeries Handling emergencies such as PPH, eclampsia, fetal distress, etc. Writing case sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries Coordinating with nursing staff and other departments Managing labor ward and monitoring fetal/maternal condition Ensuring patient safety, consent, and timely updates to relatives

Typical Requirement:

MBBS degree (MCI recognized) Registration with State Medical Council Experience/interest in Gynecology & Obstetrics Ability to handle emergency cases in maternity & gynecology
