Conduct OPD consultations and evaluate patients with gynecological and obstetric concerns.
Manage antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care as per clinical guidelines.
Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as PCOS, menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, infections, and menopausal issues.
Provide family planning counseling and contraceptive services.
Handle gynecology-related emergencies such as ectopic pregnancy, PPH, ovarian torsion, and acute pelvic pain.
B. Surgical & Procedural Duties
Perform routine gynecological surgeries such as hysterectomy (open/laparoscopic), ovarian surgeries, D&C, tubal ligation, hysteroscopy, and diagnostic laparoscopy (as trained).
Assist and perform normal deliveries, assisted deliveries, and handle obstetric emergencies.
Conduct minor procedures including Pap smear, colposcopy, cervical biopsy, IUCD insertion, and other OPD-based interventions.
C. Diagnostic & Monitoring Duties
Order and interpret imaging studies (ultrasound, CT/MRI as needed), lab results, and fetal monitoring tests.
Maintain accurate antenatal charts, partographs, and clinical notes.
Identify high-risk pregnancies and ensure timely referral or multidisciplinary involvement.
D. Patient Counseling & Education
Provide empathetic counseling about diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, pregnancy care, and preventive health.
Assist patients in understanding risks, benefits, and expected outcomes of procedures.
Promote women's health awareness and preventive screenings.
E. Safety & Compliance
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and NABH standards.
Ensure proper documentation of consent, clinical notes, and treatment records in HIS.
Participate in audits, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Follow medico-legal protocols related to maternity and gynecological care.
F. Team Collaboration
Coordinate with radiologists, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and ICU teams for patient management.
Work closely with nursing staff, midwives, and other allied health teams.
Participate in departmental CMEs, awareness programs, and interdisciplinary case discussions.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology from a recognized institution.
Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience
in gynecology and obstetrics practice.
Valid Medical Council Registration (Mandatory).
Experience in handling routine gynecological surgeries and obstetric cases.
Training in laparoscopy or ultrasound is an added advantage.
