Oversee daily operations of the gym, ensuring smooth functioning and cleanliness.
Manage gym schedules, trainers' timetables, and member bookings.
Maintain gym equipment -- ensure regular maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
Monitor hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in all gym areas.
Supervise front desk operations (member check-ins, billing, etc.).
2. Staff Supervision & Development
Recruit, train, and supervise gym staff (trainers, receptionists, housekeeping, etc.).
Set performance goals for trainers and staff; conduct periodic evaluations.
Motivate the team to deliver high-quality customer service and maintain discipline.
Arrange staff meetings and regular communication sessions.
3. Customer Relations & Membership Management
Greet members and ensure a welcoming environment.
Handle member queries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
Oversee membership sales, renewals, and promotional offers.
Maintain accurate records of memberships, attendance, and renewals.
4. Financial Management
Monitor daily income, expenses, and cash flow.
Prepare monthly financial and performance reports.
Ensure all transactions (memberships, merchandise, PT sessions) are properly recorded.
Work with the accounts team on budgeting, targets, and profitability.
5. Marketing & Business Growth
Plan and implement marketing strategies (social media promotions, events, referral programs).
Collaborate with schools, housing societies, or corporate offices for membership drives.
Organize fitness challenges, workshops, or health camps to attract new members.
Maintain strong community engagement to enhance gym reputation.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
Maintain first-aid kits and ensure staff are trained in emergency response.
Keep medical and liability forms updated for all members.
Oversee COVID or hygiene-related safety protocols (if applicable).
7. Reporting & Performance Tracking
Track KPIs: membership growth, attendance, trainer performance, and customer satisfaction.
Generate weekly/monthly reports for management review.
Use member feedback to drive service improvement.
8. Facility & Equipment Management
Ensure all gym machines, air conditioning, lighting, and sound systems function well.
Maintain vendor relationships for equipment and cleaning supplies.
Schedule periodic deep cleaning and facility audits.
9. Event & Program Coordination
Plan special programs -- yoga classes, Zumba, weight loss challenges, etc.
Coordinate with external instructors or fitness consultants when required.
Promote seasonal offers or "Fitness Weeks" to boost participation.
10. Leadership & Culture Building
Build a positive, motivational culture that promotes health and teamwork.
Encourage trainers to provide personalized attention to members.
Set an example in punctuality, fitness, and professionalism.
