The Black Shepherd is an intimate, 26 seat restaurant in the heart of Bandra, bringing authentic British cuisine to Mumbai. Founded by Chef Rahul Kotak, our philosophy is built on warm storytelling, honest ingredients, and a touch of nostalgia. We do not just serve food; we recreate the warmth of a classic British eatery where every plate, from our signature Fish and Chips to our Shepherd's Pie, tells a story.
The Role
We are looking for a
Guest Service Associate
who understands that service is about connection, not just carrying plates. Because we are a small and intimate venue, you are the face of our storytelling. You will guide guests through a menu that might be new to them, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Storytelling:
Expertly explain our British centric menu to guests. You must be able to describe the difference between our triple cooked chips and standard fries, or the history behind our Shepherd's Pie, with enthusiasm and accuracy.
Intimate Service:
Manage a section of our 26 seat dining room with high attention to detail. In a small space, small gestures matter like anticipating refills, clearing quietly, and engaging without being intrusive.
Beverage Management:
Serve and recommend our curated list of teas and our signature bottomless hot chocolate.
Operational Excellence:
Handle service operations effectively, ensuring the restaurant is reset and pristine for the next service.
Feedback Loop:
Act as the bridge between the guest and the kitchen, relaying feedback on our specific British flavor profiles to the Chef.
Requirements
Communication:
Fluent English is mandatory. You must be articulate and confident in engaging with a diverse Bandra clientele.
Experience:
Previous experience in a fine dining, bistro, or high end cafe environment is preferred. Experience with continental or European cuisine is a plus.
Personality:
Warm, outgoing, and groomed to high hospitality standards. We need someone who fits our refined but cozy vibe.
Flexibility:
We offer both
break shift
and
part time
options.
Weekday Shifts:
10:30 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
Weekend Shifts:
Shifts extend until 12:00 AM.

?10,000 to ?30,000 per month (based on experience and skills).
