A guest service associate in a restaurant provides friendly and efficient customer service, ensuring guests have a positive dining experience. This role involves greeting customers, taking orders, answering menu questions, handling payments, and supporting daily restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating or ordering
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
Answer guest questions about the menu, ingredients, or promotions
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and correct order delivery
Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, service counters, and workstations
Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when needed
Handle payments and issue receipts
Assist with restocking, opening, and closing duties
Follow all restaurant hygiene, safety, and service standards
Requirements
Good communication and customer service skills
Friendly and professional attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math and cash-handling ability
Experience in customer service or hospitality is helpful but not required
Ability to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks
Familiarity with POS systems is an advantage
