Job Description

The GSI Construction COE Leader is responsible for setting-up and leading the construction COE team. The Construction COE is supporting Regions Construction teams with delivery of offers (ITO) and project execution(OTR), typically in terms of documentation and procedures preparation. Construction COE will also contribute to Global initiatives like HVDC Reference Solutions. The GSI Construction COE Leader will also be involved in Lean initiatives for Construction processes improvement like KAIZEN weeks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Process

Ensures that COE team is aware of applicable Construction processes and that they are properly applied When additional standards and processes (like local regulations of the destination Country) are applicable, ensures that this is properly identified and followed Participates to key initiatives aiming at improving processes and projects SQDC such as definition and documentation of HVDC Reference Solutions, KAIZEN weeks, etc...

People Management

Builds and leads Construction COE teams to ensure proper performance with the respect of policies and procedures Ensure proper team development plan including coaching for leadership skills & construction expertise Able to work in a multi-cultural environment being the point of contact between Construction COE and Regions Projects and Construction teams

Resources

Works closely with Global Construction Leader, Regions and HR to define COE needs in terms of sizing and skills. Actively manages the ramp-up of COE team according to defined plan, play an active role in identifying and hiring the right profiles for Construction COE roles Ensure proper construction expertise level to execute on projects scopes assigned, with proper level of EHS, quality and within budget. Manage competencies development actions for COE team Organizes the work, allocates resource to the different scopes of works assigned to Construction COE according to schedule, agreed contract delivery dates and team competencies. If/when applicable, uses ServiceMax for resource planning.

ITO phase scope

At ITO stage, scopes assigned to Construction COE are typically - but not limited to :

Technical analysis of contract requirements Establishing accurate should cost for construction scope Preparing document package for offer submission: technical offer, schedule, Method statements for Construction & Commissioning works, Commissioning and Test Plans, etc... Preparing standard ITO documents packages as part of Reference Solutions

OTR phase scope

At OTR phase scopes assigned to Construction COE are typically - but not limited to :

Review of Engineering drawings for Constructability Reviews, review of sub-contractors, partners, and suppliers construction & commissioning documentation Construction and Commissioning Documents packages as defined and agreed with Regions Projects and Construction teams. This will typically include Construction & Commissioning Method Statements, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning execution plans, Inspections & Test Plans (ITP), ... Participate to CW packages drawings and/or LV cabling drawings as relevant Review and update as necessary Red Mark drawings Deliver As-Built documentation Preparing standard OTR documents packages as part of Reference Solutions

Lean & Quality

Construction COE will participate to key Quality and Continuous improvement initiatives. As such Construction COE Leader shall proactively lead improvement initiatives and Lean actions

Health and Safety

Demonstrate EHS leadership, go to genba Actively and routinely promote the identification of hazards and near misses to the construction team

Key Performance Indicator Measurement

I&I rate Say/Do ratio in terms of delivery and manhours Productivity metrics Competency development plan Customer satisfaction

Required Experience/Skills:

10 years of experience in EPC/turnkey projects in engineering, construction or project management Experience in HVDC is highly recommended Knowledge & experience in the grid / electrical Strong Leaderships skills to work in matrix organization with experience of international management Team player & networker Fluent in English
