Job Description

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Planning & Documentation

Prepare and review Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) for ground systems. Define and implement quality checkpoints at system, sub-system, and component levels. Ensure compliance with standards such as

MIL-STD, JSS, JSG, ISO 9001, AS9100

, and customer-specific requirements (e.g., DRDO, DGAQA, BEL, etc.).

2. In-Process & Final Inspection

Conduct and document

in-process, final, and pre-dispatch inspections

of assembled ground systems. Perform functional checks of

mechanical assemblies, electrical wiring, enclosures, shelter integration

, and

interfacing subsystems

. Witness system-level tests like vibration, EMI/EMC, power-on checks, and environmental tests where applicable.

3. Supplier and Incoming Quality

Collaborate with Supplier Quality teams to ensure incoming parts and assemblies meet the system quality requirements. Validate traceability of critical parts (e.g., connectors, sensors, harnesses, metal structures, electronics).

4. Quality Problem Solving & RCA

Manage and resolve non-conformities through structured

Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

and

Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)

. Interface with engineering and production teams to resolve design-to-build quality gaps.

5. Customer and Defence Liaison

Coordinate with defence quality agencies like

DGAQA, DGQA, RCMA, CEMILAC

, and participate in customer inspections and audits. Support in preparing documentation and technical files for

clearance, acceptance, and dispatch

.

6. Audit & Compliance

Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, AS9100, customer audits). Ensure all test and measurement instruments are calibrated and certified per schedule.

Qualifications & Experience:

B.E. / B.Tech

in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Aerospace Engineering.

4-10 years

of experience in Quality Assurance for complex

defence ground systems

, such as shelters, radar platforms, vehicle-mounted systems, or C4I systems. Good understanding of system integration, wiring, cable routing, IP-rated enclosures, and test procedures.
