Job Description

Grinder - JD o Role Purpose: Perform grinding, finishing, and surface preparation of steel components, weld joints, and fabricated structures using AG4/AG7 and pedestal grinders. Ensure dimensional accuracy, burr removal, and quality finishing as per fabrication requirements o Key Responsibilities: o Operate AG4/AG7 hand grinders and bench/pedestal grinders for weld grinding, smoothing, and surface finishing. o Perform burr removal, edge cleaning, radius making, bevel correction, and joint preparation before welding. o Grind weld joints to required profile (flush, reinforcement removal, blend finish) as per instructions. o Support fitters and welders in preparation of plates, beams, frames, brackets, and structural components. o Ensure correct selection of grinding wheels, discs, flap wheels, and consumables. o Conduct basic tool checks: guard condition, cable condition, switches, RPM stability. o Maintain tool safety: ensure wheel dressing, proper tightening, disc compatibility, and PPE adherence. o Assist in gas cutting preparation, marking cleanup, and slag removal. o Follow hot-work permit, LOTO restrictions, and shopfloor safety rules. o Maintain housekeeping in grinding areas, remove scrap, and segregate metal waste.

Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in AG4/AG7 grinding, knowledge of grinding wheels and their applications, basic fabrication understanding, ability to follow instructions/drawings, good hand-eye coordination, safety-first mindset. o Qualifications & Experience: SSLC/ITI preferred; 1-6 years experience in fabrication / steel / structural shopfloor operations.

Role Levels: o Grinder: 1-3 years o Senior Grinder: 4-6 years (structural grinding, weld finishing, profile grinding) o Shift & Conditions: Rotational shifts, exposure to sparks, dust, noise, and heavy fabrication areas; mandatory PPE (goggles, face shield, gloves, shoes). o KPIs: Grinding quality, finishing accuracy, rework %, productivity, consumable usage, safety compliance, housekeeping.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹42,000.00 per month
