Job Title: Grinder Operator (Surface / Cylindrical / Centerless Grinding)

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Shift In-charge

Educational Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Tool & Die, Fitter, or related trade Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualification
Experience

2-10 years of experience in Surface / Cylindrical / Centerless Grinding Experience in manufacturing / precision engineering / automation components preferred
Working Conditions

Shop-floor manufacturing environment Shift-based work (Day / Night shifts as applicable)
Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

Operate Surface Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder, and Centerless Grinder machines as per work instructions Set up machines including wheel mounting, dressing, and job alignment Select appropriate grinding wheels, feeds, speeds, and coolants
Production & Quality

Grind components as per engineering drawings and tolerances Measure components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and dial gauge Ensure parts meet dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements Maintain production records and inspection reports
Maintenance & Safety

Perform basic preventive maintenance and machine cleaning Identify and report machine abnormalities or breakdowns Follow safety guidelines, PPE usage, and 5S practices
Continuous Improvement

Reduce rejection and rework through proper setup and process control Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
