Job Summary

The Grinder is responsible for grinding, finishing, and surface preparation of steel structures .The role involves removing excess material, weld spatter, and sharp edges to ensure smooth finishes and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform grinding operations on steel plates, pipes, frames, and ship structures. Remove weld spatter, burrs, slag, rust, and sharp edges using angle grinders and other tools. Prepare surfaces for welding, painting, or coating as per shipbuilding specifications. Smooth and finish weld joints to meet quality and inspection standards. Follow fabrication drawings and instructions provided by supervisors. Inspect finished work to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Maintain grinding tools and equipment in good working condition. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area. Assist other fabrication activities when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum

1-3 years of experience

as a Grinder. Ability to handle angle grinders, power tools, and hand tools safely. Basic knowledge of welding joints and steel fabrication processes. Experience working on hull structures, blocks, or ship components preferred.

Pay: ?16,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
