Head Purchase Opening Needing Skilled Procurement Leader

Primary Task: To lead and manage all procurement activities for our manufacturing operations in Chennai, developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, ensuring timely supply of quality materials, and building strong supplier relationships to support efficient production and business growth.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with the company's overall business objectives and production requirements in Chennai.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
Explore value engineering opportunities in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Manage inventory levels in coordination with production planning to minimize carrying costs and avoid shortages.
Ensure compliance with relevant quality certifications and standards.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
Utilize data analytics to drive informed procurement decisions.
Required Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing principles, negotiation techniques, and contract management.
Strong understanding of supply chain management best practices.
Proven ability to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal in English and Tamil), interpersonal, and negotiation skills, particularly within the local business context in Chennai.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
