Job Description

We are looking to hire a talented, creative & experienced Graphic Designer to join our hospital digital production team. You will be responsible for producing a wide variety of printed and electronic materials for the hospital, which include brochures, posters, banners, publications, digital displays, web graphic design or any other graphic related service. You should use invention, imagination, originality, and talent to take projects from concept to delivery, participates in project discussions, develops concepts, designs & logos, presents design layouts to production team, makes presentations & prepares camera-ready art through desktop publishing. He/she may assist other staff by producing projects they have designed.
You should have expert knowledge of modern graphic designing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts, interacts with writers, video editors, production crews, and other participants involved in multiple productions.
You will report to the Director or the Head of the Digital production team.Responsibilities:

• Produces effective publications and web pages, from concept to delivery, by participating in project discussions, developing concepts, designs & logos, making presentations, producing proofs, and preparing camera-ready artwork through desktop publishing.
• Meets the hospital's communication objectives through a thorough knowledge of type and design in order to develop concepts, sketches, comprehensives, or camera-ready art and advising them of appropriate options to achieve their communication objectives.
• Operates within budgets and deadlines established for various projects verifying that the assigned project is completed and ready to deliver and archiving the work electronically and in hard copy.
• Ensures effective and timely production by working closely with management, writers, editors, photographers, other designers and printers to coordinate production schedules and complete printed material on time.
• Creates printed and electronic material by utilizing available desktop publishing software and becoming proficient in new software programs and versions.
• Facilitates an efficient office operation by assisting with maintaining files of graphics, designs & special creatives, keeping records of expenses, supplies, and other associated costs and providing required reports of production costs and inventories as directed.
• Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
• Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, maintaining a current knowledge of desktop publishing, developing professional contacts with colleagues, researching about medical/hospital related creatives or publications.
• Understanding & manipulating graphic requirements based on hospitals services & facilities, departments, doctors, charts, occasions & events.
• Facilitating designs according to hospital requirements for promotional or educational purposes.
• Consulting with the Director, production & marketing team throughout the project.
• Contributes to the overall success of the Library by assisting with the editing of print and electronic materials and performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design is required. A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design is preferred.
• Atleast one year of experience as a Graphic Designer is required. It must include an understanding of design and typography and the process of creating a publication through all its phases from concept through printing.
• Extensive experience in Windows desktop publishing including softwares as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc. is required.
• Must demonstrate talent as a designer, including an understanding of the need to balance function and visual appearance to achieve successful communication. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Organizational, planning and supervisory skills are required.
• Ability and comfortability to work with designs related to medical management, treatments, procedures, consultations, seminars, corporate portfolios, occasions & events.
• The scope of job requires attendance of daily activities and an extensive amount of time working at a computer workstation.
• Brief knowledge of computers, components or editing builds.
• Ability of research & development for medical/hospital related designs, graphics or creatives.
• Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously.
• Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.
