The Unmute, a dynamic digital media news channel, is seeking a creative and skilled Graphic Designer to join our team in Mohali, Punjab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing visually compelling graphics, digital assets, and multimedia content that align with our brand identity and enhance our storytelling. You will work closely with the editorial, marketing, and video production teams to create engaging designs for our audience across various digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Visual Content Creation:
Design eye-catching graphics, infographics, banners, and thumbnails for news stories, social media posts, and digital campaigns.
Branding Consistency:
Ensure all designs adhere to The Unmute's brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive visual identity across platforms.
Multimedia Support:
Collaborate with the video production team to create motion graphics, lower thirds, and animated elements for news videos and live streams.
Social Media Graphics:
Develop platform-specific visuals for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other digital channels to boost engagement.
News Visualization:
Transform complex data and news information into easy-to-understand infographics and visual assets for articles and reports.
Creative Ideation:
Brainstorm and propose innovative design concepts to enhance the presentation of breaking news and feature stories.
File Management:
Organize and maintain a library of design assets, ensuring timely delivery of projects under tight deadlines.
Adaptability:
Quickly adapt designs based on feedback from editors and marketing leads to meet the fast-paced demands of a news environment.
Trend Awareness:
Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to keep The Unmute's visual content fresh and competitive.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
1+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in digital media, news, or a creative agency.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro & Canva).
Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design.
Experience with motion graphics and video editing is a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Excellent Punjabi communication and Punjabi writing skills.
Portfolio showcasing creative and versatile design work.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of digital media trends and social media design specifications.
Familiarity with newsroom workflows and content management systems (CMS).
