Graphic designers create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and reports. Confers with and advises clients on graphic design and multimedia projects; creates design concepts and makes recommendations to clients; determines format, layout, artwork, photography, paper type, colors, typeface, typesetting specifications, ink selections, size, and finish; estimates project costs and production ... Plans and illustrates concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetics. Coordinates with internal teams, including marketing, in the design concept phase through the completion of a project. Knowledge about design elements, such as color and composition, is vital for graphic designers. Artistic ability and creativity are essential. Technical Skill \xe2\x80\x93 A graphic design job requires the technical skills to use design software programs such as Photoshop or Quark Xpress.
