of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
CAD Execution:
Utilize
CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.)
to develop, modify, and manage complex mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, tolerances, and material callouts.
Analysis & Simulation:
Perform basic engineering analysis, such as
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
or other simulations (stress, thermal, fluid dynamics), to validate designs for performance and durability.
Prototyping & Testing:
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support the fabrication of prototypes, conduct testing, and iterate designs based on test results.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM):
Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, efficient manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding), and ease of assembly.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), design reports, and drawing release packages, ensuring adherence to
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into final products.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or a closely related field.
CAD Expertise (Mandatory):
Demonstrated proficiency
in at least one major 3D CAD software package (
SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, or similar
).
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, material science, and thermodynamics.
Drawing Standards:
Expertise in reading, interpreting, and applying
GD&T
and other industry drawing standards.
Experience:
Proven experience in mechanical design, drafting, and product development cycles.
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with
PLM/PDM
systems for managing CAD data and revisions.
Knowledge of specific manufacturing processes relevant to our industry (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding).
Experience in
value engineering
and cost reduction initiatives.
