Job Profile: Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET)

Position Overview

A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) is an entry-level engineering professional who undergoes structured training and development to gain practical knowledge and skills in engineering functions. The role prepares fresh engineering graduates to take on full-time responsibilities in areas such as design, production, quality, maintenance, projects, or research & development depending on the industry and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Learning

+ Undergo on-the-job training in different departments (production, quality, design, R&D, etc.).
+ Learn company-specific processes, tools, and technologies.
+ Participate in classroom and practical training sessions.

Technical Contribution

+ Assist senior engineers in day-to-day operations and projects.
+ Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting to support engineering decisions.
+ Work on minor projects or assignments to develop hands-on experience.

Operational Support

+ Support in troubleshooting technical issues in operations.
+ Perform testing, inspection, and quality checks under supervision.
+ Document processes, findings, and improvements.

Continuous Improvement

+ Suggest innovative ideas for process improvement.
+ Participate in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or quality initiatives (where applicable).

Skills & Competencies

Strong foundation in engineering concepts (relevant to specialization). Analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in engineering tools/software (CAD, MATLAB, PLC, etc., depending on domain). Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
