The GPS Tracking Officer is responsible for monitoring company vehicles using GPS tracking systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation operations. This role focuses on real-time vehicle tracking, route optimization, driver behavior monitoring, and reporting to improve fleet performance and reduce operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor company vehicles in real time using GPS tracking software
Track vehicle routes, speed, stops, fuel usage, and idle time
Ensure drivers follow assigned routes, schedules, and company policies
Identify and report unauthorized vehicle use, route deviations, or delays
Communicate with drivers regarding route issues, emergencies, or operational updates
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly GPS and fleet performance reports
Maintain accurate GPS records, trip logs, and vehicle movement history
Assist in optimizing routes to reduce fuel consumption and delivery time
Report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or suspicious activities immediately
Coordinate with fleet, dispatch, and maintenance teams
Ensure GPS devices are functioning properly and report technical issues
Support compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
Previous experience in fleet monitoring, dispatch, or GPS tracking (preferred)
Knowledge of GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, email, reporting tools)
Good communication and coordination skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
